Programs & Services

Unlike local government comprehensive plans, the Strategic Regional Policy Plan (SRPP) is not implemented through a set of land development regulations and accompanied by a capital improvements program in order to meet the objectives established in the Plan. Instead the Regional Plan must be implemented as a result of Council’s program activities and through the consensus of local governments in the Region. The successful implementation of the Regional Plan can occur in a number of ways. Perhaps most importantly, the SRPP will be implemented as a result of successful implementation of local government comprehensive plans, which by Statute (Chapter 163) must be consistent with the Regional Plan. The Regional Plan is also implemented as a result of Council’s program activities, some of which detailed in the programs and services listed in the submenu.
