TCRPC plays a role in the coordination of efforts within the Region by providing a one-stop information clearinghouse of information on EDA and other federal economic programs.
Treasure Coast Brownfields Program
TCRPC has established the Brownfields Program to facilitate the redevelopment and revitalization of Brownfield areas. For more information on the Treasure Coast Brownfields Program, click here.
TCRPC provides technical assistance to local governments on their economic development activities, programs, and grant applications.
TCRPC works with members of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Committee to guide regional economic development plans, policies, and programs.
TCRPC As The Economic Development District For The Region
In 1999, the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council was officially designated as the Economic Development District (EDD) for the Treasure Coast Region. An EDD is a designated planning office that is funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) to provide technical assistance for application processing, administration of awarded projects, and identification of regional funding opportunities. The Treasure Coast Economic Development District is comprised of Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, and Palm Beach counties. The primary functions of the EDD include, but aren’t limited to:
- Technical assistance to Local Governments & Economic Development Organizations on their economic development activities, programs, and grant applications
- Prepare and maintain a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Plan and Committee
- Implement strategies identified in CEDS
- Identify economic priority projects
- Economic modeling
