Becker Road as a four-lane roadway with neighborhood retail traffic calming devices..
Entering Port St. Lucie on Port St. Lucie Boulevard from Martin County
Savona Boulevard/Becker Road Roundabout by Steven Fett and Billy Hattaway
Date: November 7 - 11, 2005

Create a plan for the four-laning of Becker Road that would safely accommodate traffic between I-95 and the Florida Turnpike that would enhance the character of the existing neighborhood.

1. alternate local routes and system of alleys
  2. neighborhood retail at three key intersections including a village center
  3. two roundabouts and a civic square to slow traffic
  4. entrance feature upon entering from Martin County
  5. shorten the I-95 access ramp
  6. utilize existing drainage and keep drainage along Becker Road
  7. bus shelters for student safety
  8. variety of housing types including live/work, courtyard townhouses and apartments, and mixed use buildings
  9. new school and park
