Project Description

The City of Fort Lauderdale (City), in conjunction with the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA), the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), Florida Department of Transportation District 4 (FDOT), Broward County Transit (BCT), Fort Lauderdale Transportation Management Authority (TMA), Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) form the Core Partners Group that seeks to improve mobility, accessibility, connectivity, and quality of life along Broward Boulevard, with the goal of creating a gateway to downtown. 

The Gateway Project study area extends from NE 8th Avenue to the east; NE 4th Street to the north; NW 27th Avenue to the west; and shall include all adjacent commercial properties south of Broward Boulevard from NW 27th Avenue to NE 8th Avenue.  This includes the unincorporated parcel in Broward County immediately east of NW 27th Avenue. This study area is approximately 650 acres in size and nearly 2.7 miles in length. As necessary, the study area may be expanded to include important destinations or development opportunities that lay adjacent to the defined area.  The adjacent neighborhoods (including but not limited to Riverland, Riverside Park, Dorsey- Riverbend, and Sailboat Park) shall be fully informed and engaged throughout the development of the Gateway Project.
